FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SCIENTIFIC & TECHNOLOGICAL WORKSHOP 2026: AI, MACHINE LEARNING, AND BIG DATA FOR REAL-WORLD PROBLEM SOLVING

The Faculty of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT), successfully organized its Annual Science and Technology Conference, bringing together a large number of lecturers, researchers, scientists, and graduate students from various institutions.

Focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and their applications in Cybersecurity, Education, and Smart Agriculture, the conference featured more than 24 high-quality research presentations, highlighting emerging research trends and innovative technological solutions that contribute to the ongoing digital transformation.

Diverse Research Topics with Practical Impact

The conference showcased a broad spectrum of research across key areas in information technology, demonstrating both academic excellence and practical relevance.

In AI for Education, studies such as The Psychological Impact of AI Hallucinations and Real-Time Student Behavior Analysis in Classrooms Using the HTBAM Model explored both the opportunities and challenges of integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning environments.

In Cybersecurity and Big Data, several advanced models attracted considerable attention, including XLM-RoBERTa for Vietnamese comment moderation, Double DQN-UCB for cloud task scheduling optimization, and Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) for indoor WiFi localization. These studies demonstrated significant potential for real-world deployment across various application domains.

In Data Mining and Decision Support Systems, presentations on Mining Correlated High-Utility Itemsets and Urban Tree Clustering Using the Grey Wolf Optimizer introduced novel approaches to supply chain management, intelligent data analytics, and urban planning.

A particularly noteworthy contribution was the presentation of an intelligent durian leaf disease diagnosis system based on Neuro-Symbolic AI and Knowledge Graphs. The proposed framework represents a promising advancement in precision agriculture by enhancing disease diagnosis accuracy and supporting smart farming practices in Vietnam.

Conference Highlights

The conference achieved several notable outcomes:

  • More than 24 scientific papers were presented.
  • Over 50 researchers and authors participated.
  • Research topics covered a wide range of areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Cybersecurity, Data Mining, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other interdisciplinary fields.

Toward Research Excellence and Technology Transfer

The conference reaffirmed the Faculty of Information Technology's commitment to promoting research that addresses real-world challenges while fostering innovation and technology transfer. Advanced technologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Transformer architectures, Double Deep Q-Networks (Double DQN), and next-generation AI models will continue to be developed and translated into practical applications serving education, industry, and society.

Beyond serving as an academic forum for scholarly exchange, the conference also strengthened research collaboration, encouraged interdisciplinary partnerships, and promoted the dissemination of scientific outcomes into practical solutions. These efforts contribute to enhancing the quality of education, advancing scientific research, and fostering innovation within the Faculty of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
