[ANNOUNCEMENT] Course Registration for Semester I (Academic Year 2026 – 2027) for Undergraduate Students

The University officially announces the course registration guidelines for Semester I of the 2026 – 2027 academic year as follows:

I. Eligible Students

All undergraduate students currently enrolled at the University.

II. Eligibility Requirements

Students must fulfill all outstanding tuition fee obligations from previous semesters to be eligible for course registration in Semester I (2026-2027).

III. Learning Modes

1. Traditional Face-to-Face Learning

Classes are conducted physically in lecture halls, practical rooms, computer labs, laboratories, culinary rooms, workshops, or synchronously via Zoom.

2. E-Learning on the HUITx Platform

HUITx is the official online training platform of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, dedicated to developing, deploying, and managing E-learning courses. All learning materials, activities, and assessments are digitized on this platform, allowing students to study proactively, interact with lecturers, and access knowledge anytime, anywhere.

2.1. E-Learning Organization & Workload

  • Schedule: Students study on HUITx based on the schedule published at the beginning of the semester.

  • Duration: 10 weeks per course.

  • Orientation Session: Students must attend one online orientation session via Zoom (1-2 periods) at the beginning of the course for an introduction to the syllabus, system navigation, and grading criteria.

  • HUITx Activities (70% - 80% of total duration): Watching lecture videos, studying digital materials, completing quizzes/assignments, and participating in forum discussions.

  • Interactive Sessions (20% - 30% of total duration): Face-to-face or online sessions with lecturers for Q&A, discussions, and knowledge consolidation.

  • Proactivity: Students can self-pace their learning but must ensure compliance with the course timeline and requirements.

  • Tracking: The HUITx system monitors and records students' learning progress, assessment results, and participation rates throughout the course.

2.2. Key Advantages of E-Learning

  • Flexibility: Study anytime, anywhere via internet-connected devices.

  • Rich Content: Digitized lectures featuring interactive videos, electronic materials, quizzes, and tasks to enhance retention.

  • Reviewability: Ability to replay lecture videos multiple times for personalized review and revision.

  • Skill Development: Boosts independence, self-study skills, and time management.

  • Enhanced Interaction: Facilitates seamless engagement through discussion forums, Q&A sections, and live virtual classes.

  • Convenient Tracking: Simplifies progress tracking, grade updates, and attendance logs.

  • Modern Environment: Promotes a flexible learning environment in line with digital transformation trends in higher education.

  • Tuition Discount: Students enrolling in E-learning course sections receive a 5% tuition fee reduction per University regulations.

IV. Registration Method

Students register online via the Student Portal at: https://sinhvien.huit.edu.vn/

  • Username: Student ID Number (MSSV).

  • Password: Student’s private password.

After logging in, navigate to the "Course Registration"  section to proceed.

  • Step 1: Check your Curriculum (Chương trình đào tạo) to identify the required courses for the semester.

    • Note on Electives: You must select the exact elective group specified in your curriculum. Credits from one elective group cannot be used to substitute for another group.

  • Step 2: Course Registration:

    1. Select the target semester.

    2. Choose the course to register.

    3. Select and add the specific class section/group.

⚠️ Important Class Labels:

  • Class sections with the room listed as "Zoom" will be conducted synchronously online.

  • Class sections with names containing "ABCD..." are designated E-learning courses (asynchronous online learning).

VI. Registration Schedule (2 Phases)

1. Phase 1: New Registrations & Section Cancellations

Registration Portal is open from June 1, 2026, to June 10, 2026. Detailed cohort timeline:

  • From 08:30 June 1 to 07:30 June 2: Regular Undergraduate Cohort 16 (K16) majoring in: English Linguistics; Fintech; Nutrition and Culinary Science; Tourism; Accounting; Economic Law; Law; Culinary Arts; Finance - Banking; Logistics & Supply Chain Management; Tourism & Travel Management; Restaurant & Catering Management; Business Administration; Hotel Management; E-commerce.

  • From 08:30 June 2 to 07:30 June 3: Regular Undergraduate Cohort 16 (K16) – All remaining majors.

  • From 08:30 June 3 to 07:30 June 4: Regular Undergraduate Cohort 15 (K15) majoring in: English Linguistics; Chinese Linguistics; International Business; Logistics & Supply Chain Management; Marketing; Business Administration; E-commerce; Information Security; Information Technology; Data Science; Economic Law; Fintech; Accounting; Finance - Banking.

  • From 08:30 June 4 to 07:30 June 5: Regular Undergraduate Cohort 15 (K15) – All remaining majors.

  • From 08:30 June 5 to 07:30 June 6: Regular Undergraduate Cohort 14 (K14) – All majors.

  • From 08:30 June 8 to 16:00 June 10: Open for all undergraduate students and all other training systems university-wide.

Note: After Phase 1 closes, the University will review and cancel course sections that fail to meet the minimum student quota. The list of cancelled classes will be published at http://sinhvien.huit.edu.vn. Affected students should check the portal to register for alternative classes in Phase 2.

2. Phase 2: Add-only Period (No Cancellations Allowed)

  • From 08:30 June 17 to 16:00 June 19: Available for undergraduate students of all cohorts to register for supplementary courses (if needed).

VII. Course Withdrawal (Rút học phần)

  • Timeline: From 13:00 August 17, 2026, to 16:00 August 21, 2026.

  • Steps to withdraw:

    • Step 1: Pay the tuition fee for the course you wish to withdraw from.

    • Step 2: Log into the Student Portal, go to "Course Registration", locate the course section, and click "Cancel" (Hủy).

    • Note: Tuition fees paid for withdrawn courses are non-refundable.

VIII. Tuition Fee Payment Deadline

Students must track the official tuition fee payment notices on the Student Portal website: http://sinhvien.huit.edu.vn.

IX. Automatic Course Cancellation for Unpaid Fees

Following the tuition payment deadline for Semester I (2026-2027), the system will automatically scan and cancel registrations for students who have not completed their tuition payments. Exceptions: Course sections that do not have a set timetable will not be automatically cancelled.

X. Crucial Guidelines & Reminders

  • Curriculum Alignment: Check your training program carefully to ensure you select the correct mandatory and elective modules.

  • Timetable Conflicts: Cross-check your schedules between face-to-face classes, online sessions, and campus locations to avoid scheduling conflicts and minimize transit hassle.

  • Support Contacts:

    • Department of Student Affairs (Phòng CTSV): Contact for updating personal information and password resets.

    • Department of Academic Affairs (Phòng Đào tạo): Contact for curriculum transitions (for students exceeding standard duration), final grade calculation queries, and technical registration issues.

    • Faculty Office (Khoa CNTT - IT Faculty): Contact for academic advising regarding proper course pathways, course equivalents/substitutions, or major transfers.

  • Save proof: Always save or screenshot your successfully registered timetable to use as verification if technical issues arise.

  • Browser Compatibility: Use modern browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for registration. Do NOT use Safari on iPhone or iPad, as it may cause system errors.

  • Account Security: Keep your credentials confidential. The Department of Academic Affairs will not support or reverse cancellations caused by sharing passwords, asking peers to register on your behalf, or failing to check class schedules/locations prior to registration.

XI. Implementation Tasks

  • Faculty Deans: Disseminate this announcement to Academic Advisors (Cố vấn học tập) and students.

  • Academic Advisors & Faculty Registrars: On duty to support and advise students on choosing the correct courses according to the approved training curriculum.

  • IT Center: Maintain network stability and system infrastructure to ensure smooth operations during the registration period.

  • Department of Academic Affairs & Department of Student Affairs: Provide real-time support and password resets during the active registration hours.
