Curriculum Structure - Data Science

The Data Science program is structured into four main knowledge blocks as follows:

  1. General Education: 30 credits (19.9%)
  2. Fundamental (Core) Knowledge: 36 credits (23.9%)
  3. Major (Specialized) Knowledge: 55 credits (36.4%)
  4. Advanced Specialized Stage (Engineering-oriented track): 30 credits (19.9%)

Total required credits for graduation: 151 credits (excluding Physical Education and National Defense Education).

The program is designed in two stages:

  • Stage 1 (Undergraduate level – Bachelor’s degree)
  • Stage 2 (Advanced specialized stage – Engineering degree, optional)

2. Fundamental (Core) Courses

This block equips students with foundational knowledge in mathematics, statistics, and computing, including:

3. Specialized (Major) Courses

This block focuses on core competencies in Data Science, including:

4. Advanced Specialized Courses (Engineering Track)

(For students pursuing the engineering-oriented stage)

This block includes advanced topics such as:

  • Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition
  • Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence
  • Advanced Data Analytics
  • Deep Learning
  • Recommender Systems
  • Social Network Analysis
  • Blockchain Technology

Students are also required to complete:

  • Engineering Internship
  • Engineering Capstone Project (Thesis)

PROGRAM DURATION

  • The standard duration of the program is 4 years.
  • The program is structured in two stages:
    • Stage 1: Undergraduate (Bachelor’s degree)
    • Stage 2: Advanced specialization (Engineering degree)
  • The maximum duration follows university regulations, including possible extensions.
